Hob the Elf

Perhaps, if you are very good,
You'll see a cottage in the wood,
Where lies in comfort Hob the elf,
All in a cottage by himself.

The cottage small is made of bark,
Inside it is so very dark,
That when night comes our little elf
Puts a lantern on the shelf,
And there he sits with glasses round
Reading his book, without a sound.
